Helen Dealtry is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice spans the use of watercolors, inks, and paint media.
Originally from Surrey, England Helen has been applying her art to the worldwide market since 2000. After earning her B.A. in Textile and Fashion design from Winchester school of Art in the UK, Helen moved to NYC for a job in a leading textile design studio. Over the course of the next 8 years, Helen worked her way from trainee textile designer to creative director and amassed a portfolio of well over 4,000 designs.
Known best for her distinct hand-painted floral designs, Helen has worked with some of the leading names in the fashion and interiors industry. Since founding her own company in 2008 Helen has continued to design for some of the industry’s best and brightest. From her Hudson design studio Helen creates printed textile designs and original artwork. Her first branded products, a line of Dealtry scarves was launched in 2013 and has been picked up by leading boutiques across the US.
Helen is passionate in the belief that creativity lives in everyone, which encouraged her to teach custom floral painting workshops in her studio. Participants hail from all over the world, gathering in the Hudson Valley for an afternoon of painting live flowers, personally hand gathered from local farms & florists. As well as her studio classes Helen also teaches private classes across the US and Europe.
